She leaves us with the following questions to reflect upon this week: What might it look like to respond to evil without violence? What do Jesus’ words and actions say about how his followers should respond to violence, both physically and emotionally? Who or what are the evildoers in your life that you have been ignoring or passive towards? Who or what are the evildoers in your life that you hav...

This week Llewelyn brought us the next message in our Wisdom series. Reading from Matthew 5:27-30, we looked at Jesus' perspective on sexual desire as we reflected on the law against adultery in the ten commandments. Llewelyn leaves us with the following questions to consider: What is the Spirit saying to you about your own heart? (Spirit Drawn & Led) What do your behaviours reveal about your heart and who you are? (Growing Down) What changes do we need to make to protect our hearts? What do...
This week Llewelyn looked at Jesus’ response to the prohibition against murder in the ten commandments. Jesus calls his listeners to honestly pay attention to who and what they truly love. For Jesus, real righteousness and wisdom means treating every human like they have ultimate value, dignity and worth. God’s Kingdom is meant to reshape our hearts, our character and our imagination. Llewelyn left us with the following questions to ponder: What is the Spirit saying to you about your own heart a...

This week Llewelyn commenced the next study in our Wisdom series, Jesus the Fulfilment of Wisdom. He left us with the following questions to reflect on; Did you experience the invitation of Ecclesiastes to be brought to your knees? What was that like for you? How did you respond? How would you like to respond? How does Jesus fit into your story of Chaos? What wisdom can you see in the image of the son in the father’s lap?

This week Andries continued our series through Ecclesiastes by looking at the end of chapter 9. 'Better to hear the quiet words of a wise person than the shouts of a foolish king.' (Ecclesiastes 9:17)
This week Beth continued our series in the book of Ecclesiastes by looking at chapter 5, where 'the Teacher' challenges our attitude and expectations on money and wealth. The teacher declares that it is neither good or bad to be wealthy or poor, in both circumstances money can become an obsession and give false hope of security and happiness. Instead we are told to accept our 'lot' in life and do our best to enjoy the blessings that God has given us today.
Story telling can be a powerful tool. It can help non-Christians understand how Christ is relevant to their life. It can help other Christians be spurred on in their faith and get to know God in new ways. We all have a story. As Christians we all have stories of God's goodness, a moment or a time where God has called, challenged or blessed us. So what do we do with these stories? How can we use them? During this workshop, Bee led us to think about why we share testimony and showed us how we can ...
This week Llewelyn launched our next Wisdom series, ' Wise Deconstruction '. Throughout this series we'll be diving deep into the book of Ecclesiastes. Llewelyn has left us with the following questions to reflect; When in your life have you experienced finding out your expectations in a moment of crisis? What was that like? What expectations might you need to reassess? How can you enter into this series in a posture of humility? What does that look like?...

This week Llewelyn continued our 'Growing Wisdom' series, exploring what he calls Moral Imagination. Moral imagination is the ability to imagine what a right or wrong response is to any given situation. A moral imagination immersed in the search for God’s will and wisdom enters God’s story to imagine what a situation would be like if heaven and earth were united in that place. Llewelyn looked at why the Bible uses riddles, poetry, stories and parables and how these things appeal to us on a deepe...
This week Beth continued our 'Growing Wisdom' series, exploring character formation. She left us with the following questions to reflect; What is going on in your head, heart and soul? What do you give ‘airtime’ to in the spaces where only you and God have a seat at the table? Where are you being challenged by the things of God? Where is he calling you to listen to His voice, His word, His truth and be changed by it? And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what...
This week Llewelyn brought us a message exploring the second aspect of the Wisdom Cycle: Growing Down . Likening growing down in wisdom to a tree being planted in a garden. Llewelyn has left us the following questions to reflect on this week: How do you read the Bible? Can you relate to the Theological dictionary, moral handbook, or devotional self-help book? Have you ever “met” God while reading the Bible? Have you encountered His presence in scripture? How did that happen? What kind of tree do...
This week Beth continued our 'Growing Wisdom' series, exploring Wisdom as being both Spirit drawn and Spirit led. As we walked through the story of Moses and the burning bush in Exodus 3, we reflected on the importance of Moses noticing the work of God and being drawn into His presence, and then his decision to pivot from being drawn to being led through his response of fear and humility as he realised the one who had drawn him. Beth leaves us with the following questions to reflect upon this we...
This week as we continued our Growing Wisdom series, Llewelyn explored the question, 'What is wisdom and how do I get it?' He introduced a new facet of wisdom, "know-how", and how in biblical thought, wisdom is related to skill and to the question of 'how?'. Wisdom at its broadest and most profound sense is about how to be human. Reading from Genesis 1-3, we looked at how to be human is to be the image of God and that God is the source of all wisdom. Llewelyn has left us with the following quest...
This week Beth launched our new sermon series ‘Growing Wisdom’. Reading from the parable of the wise man and the foolish man in Matthew 7, we leaned into the analogy of a tree with strong roots. Wisdom is like having deep spiritual roots. It allows us to internalise the good things of God and be formed and grown by it, this is how we produce spiritual fruit. In this upcoming series we will be exploring the ‘what, why and how’ of biblical wisdom, and seeking to develop the skill of internalising ...

Reading from Matt 5:14-16 we looked at how God is calling each of us to be a light in the community.
