Episode description

Sal is a entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker, professional runner and freak athlete! She’s the founder of Fleet Feet Sports Stores which she grew to over 40 locations with a 20MM yearly revenue.  After selling the company in 1993, she pivoted to the current company she runs called Heart Zones which provides certifications for HR training, wearable HR technology, and HR training programs for over 1000 health clubs, schools, and rehab facilities across the US and world.  She is a best selling author of 24 books including the popular books Be a Better Runner and ZONING, Fitness in a Blink. She has been featured on Oprah along with writing over 600 articles on health and fitness. Her accomplishments as an endurance runner and athlete are mind-blowing!

  • 16-time Ironman finisher (former Master's world record holder), member of the Triathlon Hall of Fame,
  • Ultramarathoner winning and setting the record for the 100mile Western States Endurance Run.
  • In 1997, she was a member of the women's winning Race Across America cycling team finishing the 3,100mile race in 7 days!
  • She even set the world record for the Iditashoe 100 mile race (not to be confused with the Iditarod dog sled race)

Her goals are to get America fit one person at a time by motivating minds and engaging hearts and there is not a better suited person to be able to do that.
