On today's episode, Brodie dives into the stages of PHT rehab. We first touch on the responsibility of pain during rehab exercises, and how we can interpret productive pain from unhelpful pain.
Next, we discuss the 3 stages of rehab. Stage #1 includes how to settle down pain from a reactive flare-up, including the appropriate use of isometrics, daily load modifications and medications.
Stage #2 covers different levels of strengthening exercises. Brodie explains how the tendon can start 'out of compression' and slowly build on compressive loads throughout the rehab process. Certain exercises include hamstring curls, Swissball bridging, swissball rollouts, deadlifts, lunges & squats.
Stage 3 incorporate speed, power & addressing the whole kinetic chain with exercises like KB swings, rocket jumps, plyo lunges, wall balls & single leg deadlifts.
Lastly, Brodie touches on the psychosocial factors of your rehabilitation and how treatment and be influenced by beliefs, thoughts and emotions.
