The "In-Betweens" Episode 7 - What We Wish We Knew Way Sooner
Episode description
Welcome to the "In-Betweens" a series of episodes in between Seasons 2 and 3. Anything goes and the topics will be lighter but just as educational and engaging.
This episode will discuss life lessons in relationships that we all wish we knew much sooner! We also take the time to speak to the author, Natasha Sattler. She is the author of the book "Shit Adults Never Taught Us". A one-stop shop for all things adulting! The one line description of her book is a SNAPSHOT REVIEW OF THE THINGS YOU DIDN’T LEARN IN SCHOOL – IN QUICK, HILARIOUS CHAPTERS. "Wouldn’t it be awesome if life had a manual? Not for your daily how-tos (like cooking or ironing) but for when the real shit pops up. The money shit we have no idea how to navigate, like negotiating a raise or buying a car. The relationship shit that slaps us in the face as we turn into full-fledged adults, like surviving a gut-wrenching breakup and having the courage to fall in love. The mind fucks that sneak into our brains after puberty like a ninja and set up camps of anxiety, loneliness, and regret. The life shit that somehow was completely ignored throughout more than a decade of schooling, like protecting your privacy online, traveling on any budget, and finding motivation when it seems impossible." The book can be found on most book-selling platforms to include Amazon, at this link!
The podcast will take a look at how our perceptions of ourselves and the world around us impact how we relate to one another. With a male and female perspective from guests in different fields and life experiences, we aim to use real-world examples of how the looking glass self-theory has an impact on all relationships. We will address societal, cultural, and mental health concepts in everyday terms as we work towards personal growth that allows us to build authentic relationships and attract connections meant for us.
While there may have been mental health concepts discussed, this podcast is not meant to be a substitute for diagnosis or mental health care. If anything in this episode triggered you, please seek the care of a professional mental health provider in your area.
