In this talk Chris Lane puts forward the suggestion that everyone leaves a legacy of some kind or another. He then offers three pointers as to the kind of legacy we might want to leave.
Using Boaz and Ruth's relationship as a template, we see how fathers are enabled to provide and protect their families, and how God as the ultimate heavenly Father is kind, affirming and inclusive. Dennis draws our attention to Boaz’s small acts of private integrity that impacted future generations, and how Boaz demonstrates benevolent strength in action.
In this epilogue talk, Chris Lane asks the question “And?". What are going to be our next steps following on from everything we've learned through The Difference series?
In our final talk of the series, Mark addresses why we should pursue holiness. Well first of all, God invites us to it! Holiness is the spectacular mission and end for which Jesus came into the world, and pursuing holiness is an outworking of our response to Jesus. The call to holiness is a call to intimacy with a Holy God. Intimacy involves a challenge: to 'forsake all others' and turn away from everything that we use to ease our pain, to distract us, to give us perceived value in other peoples' opinions. All these things ultimately divert us away from intimacy with God; they are what the bible calls 'idols'. Mark brings The Blessing series to an end this week. Mark reminds us what the purpose of praise and thanksgiving is, and the power it has. Acknowledging God’s grace towards us and every good gift is from above, Mark encourages us to offer our praise to God so that The Blessing will flow.
In this talk Chris Lane invites us to re-consider the call to holiness. He proposes that it is not only a crucial part of God’s plan for us, but a major conduit of God’s blessing.

Jesus chose to lose his life so that we would trust in what he accomplished through the cross, and not what we ourselves have accomplished through our lives.
