123: Jeremy Allen - What's the healthy way to cope with grief and loss?
Episode description
Jeremy Allen is a funeral director, embalmer, and speaker who founded Death Ed., an online grief and loss education resource. Death Ed. aims to make conversations that are sometimes difficult feel honest and open and free, like a conversation with friends around the campfire. Death Ed. is the product of years of him being invited to join families in some of the most intense environments of loss.
Jeremy believes that "grief is our emotional and behavioral response to loss, not specifically to death.” He has expertise in leading with vulnerability, bringing empathy to difficult professional situations, and holding community during times of loss. Jeremy lives in rural Alberta, Canada, with his wife and business partner, Bailey. He has three children, two geriatric dogs, and one pony.
