Didaché - podcast cover

Didaché

Didaché is the Greek word for teaching or doctrine. All Christians profess to love Jesus but few seem to have a passion for doctrine and theology. The Didaché podcast is dedicated to teaching sound doctrine and theology for it is by this that our knowledge of God is deepened which, in turn, enables our love for God to be deepened. The Bible says, "And this I pray, that your love would abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment" (Philippians 1:9). This podcast will discuss doctrine, theology, hermeneutics, and how to apply all of these disciplines so that we can live lives obedient to God's word and for His glory. We will see how, far from being boring, there is nothing more exciting and practical for the Christian than to both know and apply sound doctrine. Most of the programs will simply be straight teaching from Justin but from time to time he will also interview special guests on the program, deal with current theological issues as they arise, and will dedicate some time to answering your questions that you send in. This podcast will not have all of the bells and whistles of some of the others, but what it lacks in sound effects we trust will be made up in content. Justin Peters is a full-time itinerant preacher dedicated to expository preaching and biblically engaging many of the prevalent false doctrines that seek to "deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting" (Romans 16:17). He has earned both a Master of Divinity (2000) and Master of Theology (2002) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has preached in churches and conferences in 43 states and 27 countries. He and his wife, Kathy, live in Bozeman, MT, and are members of Grace Bible Church.

The Inigo Montoya Series – "Gamaliel’s Advice"

In this episode of the Didache podcast, Justin Peters critically examines the commonly cited advice of Gamaliel from Acts chapter 5 regarding how to discern true from false teachings. Peters challenges the notion that time alone will reveal a teacher's divine backing, using the advice as a cautionary tale against passivity in the face of questionable teachings. Didaché - My Open Challenge to Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton and Bethel Church

Bethel Church, led by Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton, is known for emphasizing signs and wonders, including angel feathers appearing out of thin air in its services. They made this claim just recently, in February 2024. Kris Vallotton has said he has seen angel feathers appear “on at least a couple hundred occasions.” If that is true, I have an open challenge to Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, and Bethel Church. Didaché - Flee From Furtick 2024

In 2021, Steven Furtick raised many eyebrows when he said, in a hyper-emotive rant, "I am God Almighty." People excused that as him getting tongue-tied. Fair enough. But then I found a clip from two years earlier in which he said the same thing. In 2024, he may have said the most blatantly heretical statement he has ever uttered. Ken Ham is the founder and CEO of Answers in Genesis, The Creation Museum, and The Ark Encounter. Many Christians struggle to answer questions regarding evolution, the age of the earth, and Noah’s flood. In today’s podcast, I will ask Ken about the importance of a young earth, where all the people came from for Cain to build his city, and if the Flood was global or merely a localized flood, as some evangelicals today are trying to argue. In September of 2023, Alistair Begg advised a Christian grandmother that she should attend the wedding of her "transexual" homosexual grandson (or granddaughter - this changes with different tellings of the story) and even give a gift in honor of it. This caused an immense controversy in evangelical circles. On January 28, in an evening service sermon (linked below), Alistair addressed the controversy and defended his advice. The Remnant radio channel recently released a video saying that based on Jeremiah 32:8, Jeremiah was unsure that God had spoken to him until the prophecy came to pass. In so doing, they are trying to make the case that it is perfectly fine for today’s charismatics to be unsure if God spoke to them and unsure about what He said.
