Old Strathcona Homeless Support Camp Gains Extension

Peace camp, formed in Old Strathcona in early September to shelter individuals in Edmonton’s homeless community, was ordered to be taken down by Friday September 18th. However, the city granted a 1-week extension for the camp. Outbreak in St. Joseph’s College Men’s Residence

There has been an outbreak of COVID-19 in St. Joseph’s College Men’s Residence at the University of Alberta's North Campus. Five students tested positive; All infected individuals covering in self-isolation. Coping at Schools During COVID-19

Many are wondering how schools are coping during COVID-19 with a few cases popping up in some schools. An outbreak is considered if 2 or more positive cases are confirmed at a school within 14 days. Individuals and those they have been in contact with will be asked to self-isolate and be tested. Camp Pekiwewin

Camp Pekiwewin is a space near the REMAX field for homeless and impoverished individuals to spend their days and nights, and gain access to basic needs including water, food, toiletries, and first aid. The City of Edmonton stated earlier this week that they want to work towards finding an end-date for the camp as part of a solution to tackling the homeless crisis in Edmonton. Asymptomatic Testing on Campus

The University of Alberta Health Centre Pharmacy is offering asymptomatic testing. Any person who wants to be tested for COVID-19 can now be tested, even if they don't have symptoms. Adding active transportation into your life is as easy as one two three: 1. Think about the distance you are going and whether you need to use your car. Could you walk or use your bike instead? 2. Fall 2020 U-Pass Update

There are a couple options for student transit access now available as a result of the Edmonton City Council meeting on August 19th, including the updated "Ride Transit Program" that is based on an individual's personal income. Covid-19 Resilience Stream

On August fifth of this year, the Government of Canada announced the creation of the COVID 19 resilience stream as part of the 33 billion Investing in Canada Infrastructure program.
