If your podcast has a website (as every podcast should!), it's a good idea to link to all podcast apps that your listeners may be using, such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts and others.

Instead of making your listeners search for your podcast, you can make their lives easier by giving them a link to follow your podcast in their favorite podcast app.

Nathan Gathright has put together a list of podcast apps and their URL structures as well as podcast app badges that you can use to construct links to podcast apps.

Most independent podcast apps like Pocket Casts, Overcast, and Metacast use Apple's iTunes ID to make linking easier.

Once you submit your podcast to Apple Podcasts, it will be assigned a unique iTunes ID. You can find it in the Apple Podcasts URL for your podcast. E.g., the 10 digits (1649447583) in the URL below is the Apple iTunes ID:

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/metacast-behind-the-scenes/id1649447583

Using Nathan's list, you can easily create links to all podcast apps that support iTunes IDs.

For example, you can link to your podcast on Metacast by creating a URL like this (replace the numbers with your podcast's iTunes ID):

https://metacast.app/itunes/1649447583
  1. Download app icons or badges from the Podcast Badges repository
  2. Generate URLs using URL patterns in the Podcast Platform Links repository
  3. Add links to your site, e.g.
<a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id1649447583"
  ><img src="img/apple-light.svg"
/></a>

As Metacast grows in popularity, linking to Metacast helps your listeners start listening to your podcasts in seconds. They can also access transcripts, chapters, and summaries that make listening more effective and enjoyable.

A link on your site also helps people discover the app. If you're a Metacast user, help us spread the word!

To use the Metacast logo on your site, download it in the SVG or PNG formats from our brand page.

P.S. We've also requested Nathan to add our badge to Podcast Badges repository. Once it's done, we'll update the blog post and our branding page.
