Episode description

EPISODE #421-- We (finally) get into Pride Month with Todd Hayne's mash-up punk rock/glam/whatever epic VELVET UNDERGROUND. The movie isn't very good, but it does have the decency to at least remind us of better, more relevant films. I don't know. Christian Bale is pretty good in it as a closet homosexual? Or at least failed bisexual? I don't know. The movie is kind of a mess. Also, I think Toni Collette is supposed to be doing an American accent.

We also talk about Richard Linklater's HIT MAN (2024) on Netflix, Vijay's BEAST (2022), as well as the Good Paul Anderson's BOOGIE NIGHTS (1997). Some good stuff on this one.
