In the early morning of Halloween 1980, a 24 year old nurse was cutting through the area of Brandon Hill in Bristol on her way to work at the hospital. She found a man lying face first in a pool of his own blood. This man was Derek Grain and he had been beaten with a sand filled traffic cone.
