Kamasami Kong began his radio career in 1965 at the age of 15 in Ohio on WMOH. He moved to Hawaii and became a household name in the late ’70s throughout the 1980s as Hawaii’s premier DJ. Kong was the most listened to broadcaster on KIKI-FM and worked alongside Michael W. Perry on KKUA. He also hosted a very popular High School talent competition called “Brown Bags to Stardom” and was the original host of the popular TV show “Breakin’ Hawaii.” He later went on to do radio in Asia with shows in Taiwan, Osaka, Yokohama, and is currently broadcasting in Tokyo.
