Episode description
TL;DR - Have you ever wondered what country singers and rappers have in common? Wanna get into hip hop but can't put down the Taylor Swift?
Today, Chad and Lenny discuss hip hop tracks based on their proximity to other genres - think what Old Town Road did for country, but with other tracks touching folk, metal, EDM and more .

How time flies! One minute you're starting a hip hop podcast with a dude from the café, the next you're asking him if you can borrow $500.00 for the end of the financial year.
Anyway... cough. Season finale! Don't worry, we'll be back in precisely seven days for season two.
We're wrapping up season one with something for both the music nerds and the hip-hop newbies in our audience: a recommendation gauntlet based on rap tracks that share a bed with pop, rock, metal, EDM, folk, jazz and/or soul.
If you're the kind of person who needs their hand held through a new experience, think of this episode as the gentle arm of your favourite genre accompanying you to the classroom of hip hop. Don't worry, says your Scandinavian Black Metal parent, they aren't so different to us.
We also react to the new 2023 XXL Freshman Class, lament on the absurdity of new rappers' names, clarify the difference between crump and krunk, talk about growing out of musical tastes and have a sincere, impassioned conversation about Chad's dad reacting to TPAB and the misinterpretation of hip hop in the mainstream.
Finally, the guys run through some end-of-season housekeeping, and announce our brand new newsletter; the ALL CAPS Weekly.
As always, thank you for tuning in, reading and just being you, you loveable ALL CAPS the Podcast listener you.
Word of mouth is mightier than the sword. Share us with your friends! We'd appreciate it so much.
