Marlon Beck jumpstarted his journey at Binghamton University where he was a three year captain and finished second all time in scoring on the Men's Basketball Team. It was after a conversation with his mentor where he was encouraged to think critically about what he would take away from his four years in the program.
With limited opportunity to intern due to basketball, he began with a sports marketing internship at the University and growing his network. Since, Marlon as interned at Nike, the NBPA, the BIG 3, Under Armour, obtained his Masters in Sports Management from Georgetown, founded his own Sports Conference, and since returned to Under Armour full time in their basketball department.
As we walk through Marlon's Journey we'll discuss: 1) Why and How athletes should look to grow their network to build a foundation of opportunity for when the time arises 2) The experiences and frameworks of thinking from basketball that have enabled him to succeed within marketing roles across the sports industry and create new opportunities 3) The mantra that he employs that will encourage you to take full advantage of the opportunities already at hand to come out a better product.
