On today’s episode, Kirby begins with an update on her new role on the NBA & Hoops Strategy Team at PepsiCo and answers the first question to kick off her new Q&A Series.
Our guest is Chris Staten. Last month, Chris Staten shared his reflection on the Netflix docu-series, Last Chance U, and how he was once in the shoes of the players on the show - reliant on football as his only way out.
Today, Chris works an IBM Executive and professional presence coach. Outside of his own work, he teaches people how to own their narrative, pursue a career that align with their interests, and shares this knowledge with people looking to strategize next steps and claim their path.
In between, he played football at Murray State, lead the development of leadership & Life Skill programs at Indiana and Georgia State, and received his MBA from Pitt.
He joins us to share:
How he shifted his mindset to control his narrative
His journey to IBM and becoming a career consultant
Insights for athletes for athletes to take away from his career consulting experience.
