Episode description

In this week’s show we present another audio documentary regarding the shared heritage between Jews and Christians. We discuss the different rites practiced by Judaism, Catholicism and Eastern Christianity. Our featured guests Sam Granger, Joe Balog and I discuss different interpretations such as the burning bush with the Madonna and child. The virgin symbolized by the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament. In church history there is a division of the Apostolic, Patristic, medieval and modern periods. We also discussed personal revelation. In Judaism Moses is seen as a legal codifier and prophet however in the New Testament book of Hebrews, usually attributed to Apostle Paul says the following “He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward” (Hebrews 11:26). The Orthodox Church architectural design includes a screen of Icons that separates their Holy of Holies from their naïve. We discussed the character of Melchizedek in the Bible and the origins of Christian priesthood. We also address the role of women and the different responsibilities of roles of congregants.
