After a three month hiatus the Mystic-Skeptic Radio Show is back on Radio Free Nashville. We start this half season with the first episode of a series called “Sojourners” where we explore intentional living, personal growth and community creation. We see “Sojourners” as an opportunity to refocus our show to be more positive and have a greater impact on the world we live in. In the past three months it seems that we are all just surviving the current state of affairs and have lost touch with what makes us all human. The U.S. obsession with propaganda news and political drivel has created a stagnant atmosphere where creative people feel stuck and the rest of the population is being manipulated to and fro. Our first guest is a breath of fresh air as she shares her experiences and intellectual musings…In this week’s show we have a special guest, Isabel Turly a student at Vanderbilt University pursuing a B.A. in philosophy. She lived at an intentional community in Panama and works for The Belcourt Theatre. We discuss her experiences and how young people in our contemporary society are looking for meaning.Kalu Yala Intentional Community is located an hour and a half from San Miguel, Panama. According to it’s website they are building a new village at a river valley that is trying to bring together entrepreneurs, artists, scientists and modern day romantics.Isabel shared her experience at Kalu Yala and her life as a student in Nashville, Tn. She also duscusses about her love of writers such as Alan Greensberg and how The Beat Generation has inspired her in art and life.Mystic-Skeptic Radio produces programs such as Uncensored & Raiders of the Unknown.
