In this patrons-first release, Brian Callanan of Seattle Channel talks with Dr. Stephan Blanford of the Children's Alliance about an upcoming event featuring acclaimed author Heather McGhee and her book, "The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together." McGhee will be presenting at the Alliance's "Voices for Children" event June 7 (free registration, with donations accepted, at the Children's Alliance website.) Dr. Blanford also discusses the challenges ahead for Dr. Brent Jones, new superintendent of Seattle Public Schools, and helps break apart a complex story about "shared fundraising" among Seattle's PTA groups.
