Episode description

Hey!  What's up?

I bet you're back to work or school now. How's your first day after vacation? Are there any changes?

I believe tons of documents or piles of tasks waved at you when you returned. That's what I felt when September started. Students are back to continue their English classes which means I have a full timetable again, to the point that I promised myself not to fritter away like I did last month since students were out for summer vacation.

I need to make sure that I manage my time wisely by creating a calendar of tasks that I need to do in a day (which is not too common for me). I also allotted a specific time that I will consume for each task since I have created different plans for my students for them to improve their English faster and in a practical way, then, I have to do all these extra tasks without spending 24 hours at work by using my time wisely.

Now, let me share with you a chunk of my new calendar.

At the beginning of my shift, I allot 30-45 minutes time for the preparation of my lessons for the entire day since some of my students have special requests for their classes.  Then, I prepare the materials to be sent and uploaded on google classroom for their Skill Up Program (where they can improve their storytelling skills). Afterwards, I have to check the schedule of English Cafe so I can make sure that they can attend on the right schedule since I believe that most of you planned all your tasks in a day based on a Calendar (and to tell you, that's what I learned from you that's why I'm managing my time wisely now).

Then, when my shift ends, I make sure to allot just short extra time to check some of my student's output.

I know it's not necessary for me to use my extra time for these programs but I really cared about their improvements since I can see their effort to learn the language.

How about you? What are the changes that you had or experienced now that you are back to school or work?

Don't forget to use these vocabulary in your recording:

1. To Fritter Away - to waste (time) on unnecessary things

2. Shift - one of two or more recurring periods in which different groups of workers do the same jobs in relay.
