Howard Vlieger is a 3rd generation farmer and GMO and soil expert. We have foreign proteins in about 70-85% of the products in the grocery stores today. Fertility rates are dropping in both men and women. Autoimmune diseases are increasing in our country. 70% of our immune system resides in our gut. We are constantly feeding our bodies foreign substances. Our gut is trying its hardest to identify these substances, and the primary response is inflammation in the body. Howard notes, “Whenever they genetically engineer a plant, they are disrupting the natural balance that the creator gave that plant in its natural environment … The simplest explanation for why we have concerns about genetic engineering is that it disrupts that normal function of the plant.” In this episode, The Brain Possible Founder & CEO, Emily Abbott and Howard discuss what has been happening on farms over the past few decades and how it has affected not only the health of the livestock, but also the health of the employees preparing the crops.
