Harris pledged to invest in manufacturing communities and work with union members in Grand Rapids. Trump spoke at a rally in Detroit and said the city “has such great potential,” a week after insulting it. In Arizona, former President Barack Obama questioned former President Donald Trump’s competence, arguing that America doesn’t need to see what an “older, loonier Donald Trump looks like with no guardrails.”
