From the first play, things were different for the Kansas City Chiefs this week. Tampa Bay fumbled away the opening kickoff, the Chiefs got a Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce touchdown pass two plays later and they were on their way to a 41-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After the game, Star reporters and columnists on site talked about the victory with host Blair Kerkhoff. It was an all-around solid effort from a team coming off its worst game a week earlier in the loss at Indianapolis. Sunday, the offensive line was especially good, leading a running game that produced a season-best 189 yards.
Mahomes and Kelce had milestone moments. L’Jarius Sneed contributed a big strip sack. The Bucs hardly used their rushing offense and were held to three yards on the ground.
