EPISODE 26 - Joan Van De Griek - Supporting her husband as he lives with a Traumatic Brain Injury

It is a call that you never want to answer - you are never fully prepared for, nor are you completely aware of how different your life will forever be after a freak accident on the job.  This happened to Joan.  Life carries on for Joan, her husband and 2 small kids - a carriage horse kicked Joan's husband in the head while on duty as a police officer.  An accident that set into motion fear, uncertainty and a drastic change in their relationship and her husband's ability to care and provide for her and the family.

The once "happy cop", joking, light and fun now deals with crippling headaches, irritability, fatigue and bouts of anger.  It is like living with a 5 year old in a man's body!  Forgetfulness, repeating the same story, loosing items and not being able to care for the kids, Joan now has moved her business into her home so that she can care for her kids and for her husband.
