LaFortune has already made history by being the first Haitian American to hold elected office in the state of Rhode Island. If she wins the Mayoral race she will make history again by being the first black person and the first woman to be Mayor in the history of Rhode Island. We talked about some of her policies and concerns for the city including: affordable housing, education, small and local businesses, and homelessness.
