In 2015 the brother-sister combination of James and Sophie Doyle made history by competing together at the Keeneland hosted Breeders’ Cup. This time around, at Del Mar, the pair will be riding on the same day, with Sophie getting the leg up on Tough to Tame in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, while the Godolphin retained rider James follows in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf on Dubawi Legend.
The pair talks candidly about their upbringing, how their mother, former trainer Jacqueline Doyle, has guided them throughout their careers and how they both got started riding out in Eastbury and Lambourn. They have continued to support each other throughout their lives, of course combined with a touch of healthy sibling rivalry.
