How would you like to hear a knock at your front door and open it to see armed federal Marshalls waving a piece of paper in your face, telling you they're there to confiscate your firearms, ammunition and any carry permit(s) you possess? And, knowing you've committed no crime and overwhelmed by the sight by the sight of armed men deliberately presenting themselves in a show of force, how would you feel? How would you react?
So-called "red flag" laws (a.k.a. ex parte orders and/or Emergency Risk Protection Orders/ERPO's) in many states have already created such scenes with local police departments, but now, in the wake of recent high-profile shootings, many elected officials wish to pass a proposed FEDERAL ex parte/ERPO/"red flag" law, which is insidiously destructive to personal liberty, the 4th Amendment, and ultimately the 2nd Amendment.
