Episode description

In this episode, Joe and I dive into the contentious topic of culture and Christianity. We discuss various developments in church planting and pastoral leadership. We examine the ways in which ‘winsome’ can be not-so-winsome. And we explore the biblical concept of Pharisaism and how hypocritical pride plays out today.

What does it mean to be winsome today? How has church planting changed in the last 10 years? What does it look like to model the life of Christ in cultural engagement? What is a sexual Pharisee?

Joe Rigney serves as President and Associate Professor of Theology and Literature at Bethlehem College & Seminary (https://bcsmn.edu/profile/joe-rigney/). He is the author of five books. Joe is also a pastor at Cities Church in St. Paul and serves as a teacher at DesiringGod. Beyond teaching, writing, and preaching, Joe loves to play baseball with his three sons and spend time with his wife, Jenny.
