My daughter had asked me a question about loneliness vs being alone. I try to sum it up as best as I can.
Watching the American collapse unfold. It's not a Trump or Biden thing either. This election night for some reason feels like a purge.
FDR was great, but moved us farther from democracy. He might be the father of the new deal, but he also built the military industrial complex. He saved capitalism at a key moment.
Then JFK, LBJ and Nixon dehumanized half the world in the name of capitalism, deifying it. Actively waging war solely on its behalf. The economy came to be prioritized above human decency.
Then Reagan declared the capitalist economy the only real concern. Regard for human life was an impediment, and was viewed as not a priority at all.
And every president since decided to excuse active harm to Americans for the sake of profits, and moved the interest of "the people" into the "enemies" list. ALL life has ceased to be a priority. Even internal stability and homeland security is back-burnered to increasingly destructive consequences. Profit is the only priority. Money is the only good.
