Show Highlights
    • Tips for districts to create more inclusive settings that connect with trans kids.
    • Navigate serving both very liberal and very conservative districts to approach how to create psychological safe places for learning communities.
    • Learn to identify the importance of when a person is ready to be supported by the school system by” letting the process in” instead of “coming out.”
  • Avoid these assumptions or myths about transgender children.
  • Stop allowing your students and staff to wear “costumes” at school with ways to help them shed the layers and be their authentic self.
  • Learn how to take the first step in creating a space dedicated to showing your school is safe.
    • If you care about the survival of children they should not be the one to open the doors and demand to be heard or demand to be allowed to be authentic.
  • You need to care about the “third spaces” in your community and not just the 1st and 2nd spaces.

“When you are authentic, you create authenticity in others. They feel safer to be authentic with you. When you are not afraid to say when you're wrong, when you're not afraid to make wonders. People feel safer in that relationship.”
