Episode description
Well…it had to happen eventually… Our most contentious, surprising, and explosive review yet was not about a book, a divisive Star Wars installment, or even a superhero movie but…“The Space Between Us.” It is a semi-recent, semi-low-budget sci-fi teen romance film about a 16-year-old boy born on Mars and visiting Earth for the first time to seek out a girl he communicates with online and to find out who is father is.
We discuss the story, cinematography, pacing, clashes between logic & romance in the script, scientific & technical inaccuracies, and the story’s conclusion.
Could the script have used another pass for scientific accuracy? Could the story have done better with the teen drama/romance? Did anyone see the twists coming a mile away?
Did the cinematography, performances, and story conclusion save the movie for any co-hosts? Did the scientific & technical issues ruin the movie for other co-hosts? Did the co-hosts have technical difficulties of their own while recording? (Spoiler: Of course, we did.)
Was the movie’s destination worth the journey? Did this movie make one or more co-hosts as red with anger as the planet Mars? Have any of the co-hosts been replaced with pod people or life model decoys? Is this review itself…a sign of the apocalypse? Listen now to find out the answers to these and other burning questions.
Get out your yard sticks & tape measures to gauge the distance between our opinions as we investigate, articulate, eviscerate, appreciate, incinerate, and circumnavigate...“The Space Between Us.”
