Inside episode 159, we interviewed author and educator, Jo Chrona. This week, in true Camp BNT fashion, we are sitting down for a formal debrief of that conversation.
We spent time talking to Jo about her why, her background, and her book, Wayi Wah! Indigenous Pedagogies – An Act for Reconciliation and Anti-Racist Education 2022. It’s a must read for non-Indigenous educators who are new to the conversation or want to deepen their learning.
This book will explore topics such as how indigengeous knowledge systems inform our teaching practices and enhance education, and how to create an education system that embodies an anti-racist approach.
We think that bringing a PD book such as this one into your school can spark incredible important conversations with both your staff and students. If you are going planning to utilize Wayi Wah! Indigenous Pedagogies in your school, be sure to let us know over on Instagram @bravenewteaching.
