In this episode, we learn about perseverance, bravery and changing mindsets from Chu Xian Oh - founder of Magorium Technology. Chu Xian's family is in the business of constructing roads. Worried by the global plastic waste problem and driven by her love for the environment, she set out on a journey 7 years ago to pursue her passion. Finally in 2019, Magorium Technology was founded with a patented method that upcycles landfill-bound (contaminated) plastics into long-lasting additives for paved roads - disrupting the waste and road construction industry.
We also discussed about the importance of resilient teams and support systems as she recalls leveraging support from other founders / mentors at Moonshot: Permacolony - which we are really excited to welcome Chu Xian back, to support the next cohort of Moonshot: Permacolony 2021 startups!
Moonshot: Permacolony is a program for startups looking to realise their moonshot idea for a more sustainable, livable and lovable society. This year, we are looking for startups in Singapore that recognise the importance of scalable impact and want to leapfrog current technologies in food, climate tech, infrastructure, robotics & AI, production and wellbeing.
