Episode description

Do you base your self-worth on external approval, struggle to say "no", or struggle to maintain boundaries? Today’s episode of EXPLAINED is for you, and revolves around a tendency many of us have: codependency! Today Lacy is joined by Dr. Tara and Jessica for a deep dive conversation on the energetics and neuroscience behind this pattern

Codependency, at its core, is a coping mechanism usually brought about as a trauma response. It involves a reliance on other people for validation and safety. In this roundtable discussion we discuss why it happens, how to recognize it and what we can do to heal these wounds! It’s a fascinating look into how codependency intertwines with love, career, family life and the manifestation process. Enjoy!

Trigger Warning! This episode contains an example of a case where a suicide attempt is mentioned. If you would like to avoid this section of the conversation, skip over minutes 10:15 - 11:02.
