Episode description
Part 2 of 3: Have you ever wondered why everything in the theatre seems backward? Why is stage right the same as house left? Why is the front of the stage, down? And what do you do with 800lbs of lights in your hand? Hear about this, and more on today’s episode.
I have always had a passion for the theatre. It’s one of those things that had such a large impact in my life, that I can’t imagine what I would be like without those experiences. On today’s three part episode, we look into the history of the stage, the origins of theatrical terminology, and the present day fun facts that abound. From the first plays performed in ancient Greece, through what constitutes a “Broadway” theatre; we’ll even explore why I think the proper spelling is always “theatre.”
