Jennifer Sherer, PhD, is the Director of The University of Iowa Labor Center. Over the past year, she directed the launch of the Labor Center’s new state-wide Quality Pre-apprenticeship Program, which actively recruits women and workers of color to prepare for apprenticeship training. Today she joins the show to discuss their plans to launch a network of Iowa Women in the Trades and shares how we can start needed conversations about equal opportunities and equity within the labor market.
