Dr. Kristian Edwards joins us to talk about her entrepreneur journey and passion - providing a marketplace of non-toxic products for Black consumers. We completed our conversation in two parts, combined into one for your enjoyment.
While researching for her dissertation, Kristian learned that products created and marketed to black people are more toxic than other products. Kristian was surprised to learn of the toxins put into products produced for the black population with little restriction and concern. This was eye-opening information!
Listen as she shares how this led to the creation of her toxin free marketplace. Her company, Blk and Grn represents products produced by Black woman owned businesses, that are also Green, as in non-toxic. Don't you just love it when we are moved to create better out of pure care for each other! Dr. Edwards has created a wonderful safe haven where we can shop beauty, wellness, and home items, all certified toxin free, and all produced by Black Women Owned businesses! Yesss! Dr. Kristian graciously opens up and shares a myriad of lessons she has learned while facing the challenges of being an entrepreneur. We discuss her development of standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure her business keeps flowing even when she is not able to be present.
We also discuss the importance of passing down a new set of household staples to future generations, that are produced by black women and non-toxic.
