At the weekend, it was time for our latest non-league day trip feature, so we decided to pop down to the seaside in Easternmost East Sussex (more or less) to visit The Pilot Field, home of Hastings United Football Club.
Pete and Russ imbibed of some local refreshments before meeting up with octogenarian trio Ray, Alan and Geoff, who invited us to make their Matchday journey in Ray’s car to the ground.
What top fellas they are, with plenty of stories and memories! And the team gave a good account of themselves too, against top of the table visitors Bishop’s Stortford, narrrowly missing out on a point.
