Reiss Nelson, Very Much Alive
After the wildest game of the season, we were on one.
After the wildest game of the season, we were on one.
Maybe it's because this is lucky episode 13 for the season...Ryan makes a complete ass of himself, Tom & Johey get heated, and Will finds out he's been pronouncing a word wrong his entire life. This one is a mess, y'all.
After a shaky 1st half, and most of the 2nd half if we're being honest, Arsenal roared back and righted the ship after a bad run of form. We talk about team selection, Emi being a Gooner for life (thanks, buddy!), recent developments in officiating, and Johey goes on a little rant to wrap things up. I think the people watching Bundesliga in the bar also felt like they had to turn the sound off for us about halfway through...we've got juice!
We didn't play very well and drew a team we probably should have beaten. The show gets weird. Sue us.
That game sucked, let's talk about other stuff. Will bids goodbye to a favorite, Tom in England, transfer window wrap-up, etc. Look forward to next weekend.
It's the North London Derby and we absolutely smashed Tottenham at the Toilet Bowl. We're rather hyped about it, plus Will goes off on the FA, we discuss Mudryk and how we move on from him in the transfer window, plus is United a bigger threat than City at the moment? Tom was in attendance at the game, we've since received pictures so it's safe to assume he didn't end up in the slammer.
Banished to the other side of the bar, things were a bit out of sorts, but we couldn't end 2022 without one last show. We run down the game, the never-ending sad state of officiating in the PL, and we try to come up with what each of our starters' New Year's resolution might be. Ours is to keep up with doing these shows; thanks to everyone who's been with us this far, stick around as this exciting campaign crosses into 2023!
We're back from the long World Cup break and have some things to talk about. Some of them Arsenal-related (how our guys fared health-wise in Qatar, how we sustain success without Jesus), some of them very much not Arsenal-related (Ryan munched on some onions pre-show and that led us down a hole of sorts). Get back in the league swing of things with us as we enjoy our place atop the table.
It was loud as hell in the bar and I managed to stop the recording for a second in the middle of the show but oh yeah Arsenal will be top of the league at Christmas so who cares!
It's been a while since we've been able to get together and do this so forgive us if the show is a bit all over the place. We took all 3 points from Chelsea away so who's complaining? Nothing personal, bruv.
Arsenal finally dropped points, away to Man United. We had some thoughts.
It's a London Derby and it played out like one, and we had a great crowd on hand to watch it. The injuries to Zinchenko and Partey loom large and dominated the discussion but we also managed to sneak in some other stuff, plus Ross & Dustin rotate in for the 2nd half of the show.
SALIBA! The goal was a worldie, the song maybe not so much. We chat about yet another great Arsenal performance, including Ø's breakout game of the season and our embarrassment of riches on the back line that has us in great position so far. We also take a look at a couple of past failures that sting to this day and how Arsenal may be closer than expected to righting some of those wrongs. A little transfer speculation as the window nears closing time and a preview of Virginia is for Gooners wrap...
It's our first show of the new season, so naturally we start off by talking shit about United (they were getting spanked by Brentford as we hit record, sorry). Once we finally get back on topic we break down today's game and take a wide view at Arsenal's transfer window activity so far. Six points in two games has us in a lot better spirits than this time last year!
It's our second-to-last show of the season, after a critical 2-1 win away at West Ham. This is where I'd write something about what we talked about but I drank zero waters and many beers over the last six hours and am tired. Just listen to it.
Well, that happened. Our chances to finish top 4 (5.....6...?) took a hit and we are salty.
We break down the win against Leicester, a game that Arsenal of many recent seasons probably would have lost. Somehow by the end we get a little too into Chelsea...sorry, it's been a week for them.
In a shorter than usual show because Ryan neglected to inform anybody else we'd be podding today, we chat about where Arsenal stand after today's 3-2 victory over Watford, what impact our inactivity in the transfer window might have long-term, and kinda dig into today's action.
Our first league game in a hot minute and that's what we come out and do [Fart noise]. We run down the game, as well as some transfer rumors in the hopes that reinforcements are on the way and not in the form of Aaron Ramsey. Stay warm over the international break, Gooners!
We open with a deep dive into the traveshamockery that was Stuart Attwell, then take a more optimistic look at how we actually played and expect to shape up for the new calendar year. Happy 2022, y'all!
We break down the badly needed win against Southampton with Magic Mike of The Gooners Podcast! Enough said.
We break down the match against Liverpool that was very much a tale of before the mistake and after it, and manage to only go off on a couple of tangents despite having no notes after the 39th minute thanks to some questionable WiFi.
We're not dead yet! It's a late start to the season for the RG Pod so we have a lot of ground to cover. The dominant performance at Leicester, the chaotic state of the league as a whole, how Arsenal have looked so far this season, Tom's 10-day football bender in England...it runs a little long and gets a little weird but we'll remember how to do this eventually.
The 2020-2021 campaign has mercifully come to an end, so we run through our thoughts on the season and look ahead to the Summer transfer window and next season.
We spend a little time on the Newcastle game, but mostly try to cover everything that happened while Ryan was wiped out from moving. The ESL came and went, what was Arteta thinking with the lineup at Villareal, etc.
Surprise, podcast droppin' on a Thursday! We revel in the Gunners' stellar performance in Prague, talk about how to get Martinelli on the pitch more, and yak on a bunch of other stuff that's kinda sorta related to Arsenal.
Once Ryan finally gets the intro right, we discuss the debacle vs Liverpool and then get into speculation mode. Sergio Agüero, anyone?
We review what was at first an extremely frustrating but eventually exciting game at London Stadium. Lots of candidates for man of the match in what was a wild one. Andy Katz's hair makes a surprise appearance.
The table doesn't matter. Rotations don't matter. It's the Derby. North London is Red!
Ryan set an alarm today so we run down the game at Turf Moor, discuss Arsenal's European prospects for next season and what that might mean for us going forward, and get a little sideways regarding what makes a captain.
