Arsenal finished the season strongly winning 5 of 5 in the final games of the season, chasing down a spot in European competition for the following season, narrowly missing out. The Gunners finish in the same spot this season even with a higher point total, 8th.
Arsenal crash out of the Europa League in lacklustre style against Villareal. After losing 2-1 in the first leg, Arsenal required one goal but could only manage a 0-0 draw to ensure elimination against former manager Unai Emery. Elsewhere they defeated Newcastle 2-0 in the Premier League.
Arsenal advance to the Europa League Semi-Final in a convincing 4-0 victory against Slavia Prague. They were however unable to bring the same level of performance in Europe to England after a lacklustre draw and defeat at the hands of Fulham and Everton respectively. Arsenal have it all to do if they wish to go further in the competition and may well do so after a nice victory against Sheffield United.

Arsenal stage an extraordinary comeback to draw against West Ham after going 3-0 down after thirty minutes.
