The Facade Vs. My Marriage

What happens when who you have portrayed yourself to be is not in line with who you really are or who you really want to be? People reinvent themselves on a regular basis, but sometimes reinventing yourself into a person who outwardly is not the same as the person you are during your private times can create a true battle within. Javon Blackmon came on the show to give a cautionary tale about how he feels the facade of the person he has created has put him and his wife and even his life in a precarious position. Marriage introduces a man to himself and the desire to keep a certain facade as proved to be detrimental to Javon's relationship. The feeling of keeping up a certain image, buying certain possessions, spending money frivolously and destroying your true self to keep a facade. It's all about what other people think, status symbols, social media posts, cars and not really about what it actually is and Javon wants to talk about his journey and how he is working on breaking down this facade and getting back to understanding himself and making decisions that are no longer about a false image that he created of himself.
