Coping Vs. Healing
Oct 07, 2019•51 min•Season 1Ep. 3
Episode description
There’s a difference between coping & healing. Nowadays, we are often taught a bunch of coping mechanisms, but are never taught to heal...& we get the two confused. Coping is still carrying a burden, but finding ways to make it SEEM less heavy, momentarily giving the appearance of symptom alleviation. Healing is chipping away at the burden by directly addressing it until it’s gone, totally alleviating you of it’s effects. (Future Doctor Taleesa Peck)
A conversation between Sam and Mikell Rozier regarding Coping and Healing. Mikell is a licensed Mental Health Therapist in the Greater Atlanta Area who wants to destigmatize counseling and demystify therapy by exploring common issues with real talk & theoretical principles. Mikell breaks down what coping is and why people tend to lean on coping mechanisms instead of taking the time and effort to heal.
