Episode description

In this episode, we explore the concept of having a mental, physical, and emotional reset, emphasizing the importance of self-care and holistic well-being. I give you different signs to look out for that might be your body's way of signaling you to slow down and rest.

It is crucial to remember that every person's situation is unique, and what works for one individual may not work for another. I encourage my listeners to approach any lifestyle changes or new practices with caution and to really tune in with their bodies.

Hey guys, welcome to this week's episode. Thank you for tuning in and thank you for listening to any other episodes that I've ever created. I have so much gratitude this morning. For this podcast and just this outlet that I've created for myself to be able to share.

All the knowledge that I've had, all the heartbreak, all the trauma, all, all of the things I've ever experienced has been so nice to come on here. And be able to share that with you guys and have a space set. You guys can come to and know that you're not alone, that there are other people that can relate and a place also that you can find guidance and comfort in. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you for joining me. And on today's episode, we will be talking about resetting.

Resetting and every aspect, but mostly mentally, physically, and emotionally. And the topic to this podcast episode came from my little juice cleanse that I just did recently for three days. Because I realized how much I needed it and how much, my body really appreciated those three days of just juicing and the mental clarity that came from it and my better sleep. And I felt more grounded. I felt more at ease. And honestly, I don't plan these episodes ahead of time. Sometimes I do.

When I have guests, I do some more like outlining and thinking of what I want to share with you guys. But when it comes to me, just sitting here and talking to you guys, I want you to know that it comes from a space of, this is what I've dealt with. This is what I'm dealing with. This is what I'm experiencing. And sharing what it is that I'm going through at the moment or things that I feel like are helping me.

Cause I want to be able to help you as well, because it's so important to just share things and talk about things that sometimes are taboo to talk about. Or sometimes they're uncomfortable to talk about or. People don't really want to acknowledge. And that's why I think resetting is so important because sometimes we wait. So the beginning of the year to reset, we have all of these amazing goals and, you know, dry January, nobody drinks in January.

Nobody eats bad food in January because they've stuffed their face and they drank. You know, so much alcohol on in December and they want to just have a fresh start. And we're about the time of the year now, where a lot of us have fallen off our goals. A lot of us have fallen off our routines. A lot of us have maybe not got into everything that we wanted to get to at the beginning of the year. So I challenge you to really think about what areas in your life are you feeling a little stuffy?

Are you feeling a little drained? Are you feeling a little stuck? And think about what you wanted at the beginning of the year. And how far off are you from what you idolize that you wanted at the beginning of the year to where you are right now? And I will tell you, there are some signs because even for me, what started coming through to me after my retreat, I was really Zen.

I was very at ease and peaceful and grounded and all these things, but then life gets in the way and I don't, I shouldn't say life gets in the way, but life gets crazy. And a lot of amazing things have happened for me since March, but that also means more work and more things to do and more planning and more go, go, go. And I've worked really hard this year to be more centered and more grounded in myself. And. I'd be less go, go, go in more in flow and in surrendering.

So a lot of signs that I felt within myself was I felt. Tired very easily. I felt anxiety. I started overeating, especially after it's crazy enough. After I started working out with my personal trainer, I started overeating and I think not only was I burning more calories, but I also was feeling a little anxious and a little overwhelmed, I guess, with everything going on one of my patterns that I'm very conscious of is that I become very obsessive and extreme kind of in whatever it is that I do.

So when I started working out, I was like, okay, I need to count my calories. I need to eat this much. And even if I'm not hungry, I need to eat. And I realized after doing that for like two weeks, how. Toxic it was becoming and how it didn't feel good for me anymore. So I decided to let that go. And just eat what feels good. And going back to my intuitive eating and going back to me, going back to feeling my body and knowing what it needs. So some of those signs are overeating.

Like I said, a snacking, poor sleep, overwhelm anxiety. Some of us feel lack of motivation. Sometimes you feel fatigued. Maybe you're feeling a little antisocial. Maybe you're feeling like you need to just like be alone and that's all good. That's actually a good thing because you're wanting to be alone. That's probably because you need to recharge. Uh, but those are all signs that you might need. A little reset, a little detox. A little let's clean out some energy.

Let's cleanse out whatever doesn't serve as sending longer. And for me, the juice cleanse that only helped me stop the craving, stop the overeating, but mentally helped me get so much more clarity because I wasn't working out those three days. I was. Very grounded. I did some light yoga, some stretches, a lot of reading. I finished a book. That I started that week and actually finished it all in a week, which is unbelievable for me because I don't have time to ever finish a book.

It takes me like a month to finish a book. And it felt really nice to just be still. And my mind, I was able to stop thinking that I needed to add more to my life to better it. And if you're listening to this, I'm sure you can relate that when we start feeling these stuck energies, let's say we feel lack of motivation or we feel tired. We're like, okay, let me go drink more coffee. Oh, I saw this on Instagram. Let me add this to my diet.

Oh, I, I was told that if I just work out more, I'll feel more energy and we start adding things on instead of just slowing down. So if you're getting into this loop of, let me just add on more, add on more, instead of listening to my body. We're listening to your body and actually coming back to being with yourself. Also time for a detox. That's also another sign that you need to detox because adding more things is only going to stress. Our body's only going to stress our nervous systems.

More. We have so much going on on a day-to-day basis already that we most likely just need to release things versus adding things on. Keep it really simple. I had a conversation with my personal trainer about this in the realm of actually working out and how. I mean, he's on social media too.

So he's like, you know, you see so much, you always feel like you're lacking or not doing enough, or you should add this to your workout, or you should do this because if you want your body to look a certain way, you should do this or that. And he's like, just keep it really simple. Go back to basics, listen to your body, do workouts are going to give you a full body workout and just go back to simplicity.

So undoing a lot of what we're doing because so much of our day, we're just chasing something so much of our lives. We're just chasing something. We live in the future so much that it's hard for us to even be happy for the things that we are chasing after.

So once we get some things, sometimes we're just chasing the next thing that we can't even stay still long enough to actually appreciate the one thing that we were chasing and whatever that is, whether it's a financial goal, love friendships, a certain body image. a thriving, social life, whatever it is that you're looking or chasing after slow down enough to actually appreciate it when you're getting it or when you're getting close to it.

And being able to have that detox and that little reset is going to give you that. I'm going to share my juicing experience with you guys, because it was more mental than anything else. I knew that I was overeating. Out of just like anxiety and wanting to like S you know, Do something like I just was overwhelmed And I felt hungry, but it wasn't actually hunger because if we listen to our bodies, our bodies can go without food for a very long time. We could just live off water. I don't know what.

The actual amount of time is, but we can live without food for a long time. So our bodies don't need a lot to feel satisfied and to feel good. So when I started juicing the first day was. Hard in the sense of thinking like, okay, I'm not going to have any actual food. I'm just going to be juicing. This might be a little difficult. But I knew, and I'm a big advocate of, you've been listening to my stuff for a while, or you following me on Instagram?

I'm big on showing up for yourself and creating healthy habits because consistency is going to give you confidence. And I felt like I was consistently doing the opposite of what I wanted to do. I wanted to. You know, lose a little weight. I wanted to stop over eating and I was doing the opposite. So I knew that this juice cleanse was going to bring me back to me. But that first day was hard in the sense of, okay, I'm not going to eat. I know that I've been doing the complete opposite.

I've been overeating. I've been not listening to my body and now I have to really tune in. And then I started feeling like, okay, what do I fill up my time with what I fill up my space with? What do I need to do? Should I go on a walk? Should I do this? And that's when I realized that I had an addiction to just doing, and I've known this for a while, but I realized that even more. And I was like, no, I'm just going to go lay out on the pool.

I can tell you the last time that I did nothing for hours at a time, and sure. I read a book and I listened to some music, but actually not. Physically doing something or feeling like I had to be productive. And really just easing my mind and clearing my mind. And it's crazy because when you open up that space, that energy field within your mind, and just in your body, you open yourself up to receiving messages. And one of the messages that came through for me during those. A juice cleanse was.

From one of my mentors whose workshops I've been listening to, and this one specific video that I've. Honestly guys, I've listened to maybe three, four times at this point. I listened to it again. And what came through was a perfect message that I needed to hear. And it was that you are perfect the way you are and you don't need anything outside of you to make you happy. You don't need anything outside of you. You have everything you need.

And that's exactly what I needed to hear, but I haven't been receptive to that message in the past, because I've said, like I said, I've listened to this one video three, four times in the past. But it didn't resonate with me like it did while I was in that juice cleanse. And that's why it's important. To really hone in. On yourself, what you need and understanding that messages are gonna come through only if you're open and receptive to it. So for me, the juice cleanse, wasn't just physical.

It was mental and it was also emotional. I released a lot of the need for performing at a certain level for these like restrictive guidelines that I've given myself and these like restrictive rules that I want. I live by sometimes. Because I feel in control when I do that, I feel in control. If I say to myself, well, for the next month, I'm only going to eat a thousand calories a day. Cause I want to lose weight. I want to lose five pounds. So I'm giving you a crazy example.

That's not what I'm actually doing, but when I. When I set restrictive rules that way it makes me feel in control of my life. And it gives me a false sense of control and security. Because at the end of the day, we, none of us have control over anything so realizing where it is a you attach yourself to certain outcomes. And detoxifying and resetting, and it doesn't have to be a juice cleanse. Like if you want a physical cleanse, that's a great way to do it because physically I I'll be honest.

Like it just cleansed everything. Which I felt so much lighter and better, but you could also just reset by not being on social media for two, three days, by not watching any TV for a week. I challenge you if you watch a lot of TV to not watch any TV for a week or a month. Physical things that you might be addicted to.

I gave up coffee at the beginning of the year and I've had it since, and I still have it here and there, but I don't have that addiction to it where I feel like I needed every single morning. Look within a reset, whatever it is that you feel like you're stuck in a cycle doing that doesn't really serve you anymore, but you're doing it out of habit. Maybe you're doing it because you think you need to.

You're doing it because you feel like if you're not productive, then you're failing in life in some sort of way. And just interrupt that. And really hit that reset button like we do at the beginning of the year. We know how to do those, but we just almost don't know how to do it unless it's at the beginning of the year. Unless there's other people doing it unless it's a movement, unless it's a challenge, unless it's.

You know, somebody telling you that you should do it or a trainer telling you, or me, even on a podcast here telling you, you should do it, find that within yourself, we can find inspiration through other people, but I promise you when you find that inspiration to do it all on your own by yourself, you'll be even more proud of yourself that no one was there to support you or pushed you.

Or tell you what to do, and you did it all by yourself because you love and respect yourself enough to give yourself that space, to give yourself that time. And it will make the biggest difference in your life will make the biggest difference in the next few months. And. Your body will thank you for your mental state will thank you for the people around you will thank you for it because energetically, even if you feel like you're putting on a good show, you're putting on a happy face.

The people around you can feel when you're stressed, when you're anxious, when you're go, go, go. When you're not really present. When someone's talking to you or you're not paying real attention to what they're saying, your mind's going. Thousand miles per hour. And you're just thinking about the next thing you have to do or what you're not doing enough of everyone in your life, most importantly, yourself will appreciate you for hitting that little reset button.

And giving yourself that time and giving yourself that space. So that's all I have for you. This is a short one, but I figured this is like the perfect one to do right now because I feel like energetically, we all need this little reset. I've had so many people messaged me on Instagram about my juice cleanse and, and they're like, yeah, I need to do that too. I need to do that. Especially with let's be honest, everyone wants to feel good in the summer. Everyone wants to feel their best.

Summer's right there. So giving yourself this reset, even if it is for physical goals that you have. Go do it. I didn't follow anything like specific with my juice cleanse. I just went to clean juice, which is a franchise. And I bought three, four juices a day from them. And I did it for three days and I also actually incorporated some trader Joe ones they have some cold pressed juices. And those are like half the price. So that might be something to look into as well.

In reality, you should probably buy a juicer and do it yourself and buy all the ingredients. But I'm more about being simplistic nowadays. And that felt very heavy for me to go buy a juicer, clean the juicer. I used to do celery all the time and it just didn't feel aligned with me. So. I was like, I'll just buy it already. Made convenience. Cost money, but it's, it was worth it for me. So I'll leave you guys with that. And like I said, Your body, your mental state.

Your emotions will thank you for hitting that reset button. So I hope you guys get inspired by this episode. And again, thank you guys for being here and I can't wait to talk to you guys next week.
