I met Dave Harrell while I was a student at BYU Idaho. Similar to Bob Morley, he stood out to me from the get-go as a good man that I would be wise to learn from and trust. Taking Dave's Spreadsheet Analysis class my last semester was tough, but it was the best thing for me. In this interview, we dove into some of Dave's career struggles, learning to trust God's timing, and SO much more. This was a wonderful conversation that needed to happen for sure. I know I said that I would get the Dave Harrell interview out at 7. I got into doing my writing today on my book though and got so into it! I am reminded that God's plan is bigger than mine, and patience is key. One day at a time. I'll upload the interview with Dave tomorrow. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to make it but I said I would anyway. Lesson learned. Support the show

It's good to focus on the things that are within your control. It's easy to focus and pay attention to things outside of our control. What happens when we do this though is we tend to fall off a little bit. My voice is also pretty weak right now, but I know that I need to focus on what I need to prioritize. I can control: Time I put into my podcast Time I go to bed Time I put into researching guests But there are some things that are not in my control. I cannot control External events I wasn't a...

The plan is to get the Kindle version out on November 10 and then go from there. For now I am putting my all into getting the Kindle version as good as it can get. I feel very strongly this is what a lot of my life has led up to. I feel that I'll be taken on a whole new journey come November 10, and I'm so, so excited for it! Li...

Over the last year, I feel God has taken me on a real journey. It was to help me understand myself, forgive myself, and love myself. It was to help me ascend to a new life, peace, and way of being. I've come a long way. Now I feel much farther down the road, but I still have a long way to go. Today marks six years of my getting home from my two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Halloween is forever a different day for me. Here are some of my thoughts about trusti...

Bob Morley has helped me a great deal in my journey thus far. He was one of my professors at BYU Idaho and has appeared on this podcast three times! With the first time he came on the audio wasn't good at all (my bad) and so I had to scrap it. Those were different times. But my second and third interviews with him are here and live on! They are a great strength and blessing to me and I hope they are for you too! Recently Bob has been going through some struggles with his ears and qualified for t...

It's very nice when we are feeling lost and in the dark to have someone (or something) that we can confide in. For me I have been going to the lake, the cemetery and talking with people to help me work through these things. I talked a bit about this, and also about how God is our ultimate safe space. Fear can be useful, but its use has clear limits. When we listen to fear and let it cause it to not do something we'd like to do, it's obviously worn out its welcome. When you have a lot of fear it can be a good sign that you're on the right track. From there you can let love help you continue, for perfect love casts out fear. I shared the story of creating StoryBall out of basically nothing and other things I've learned about not letting fear speak for you and your life. Time Stamp: 1:00 - Self...

The last episode was born because my ADHD brain assumed I had dropped the ball and not uploaded an episode on Monday. Then I checked my phone again and yep it turns out that that other episode WAS uploaded. I realized that this was an example of the Lord using my weakness to create something beautiful. I think sometimes we think of weaknesses wrong. We think that they are something not to be shared. The reality though is that sharing our weaknesses and our weak moments with people helps us to em...

Funny story I was certain I didn't upload the "Wave at Random People" episode on Monday. I thought this because I saw one thing and assumed something that wasn't true. I checked my phone when I was about to do the dishes for my family. I was going to listen to a podcast and I checked mine and I didn't see the "Wave at Random People" episode. I panicked and immediately went on a walk to record this episode to sort of make it better. Things usually don't go according to plan - and there's often a ...

Been learning a lot about this recently. Glad to finally have this episode out addressing this topic. If something is not contributing to the person that you'd like to become then it is likely fluff. There are many moving pieces in my life right now. In this episode I talked about the importance of having patience on those things. Getting an interview up today would have been grand. While editing the podcast interview for today I made a BIG mistake - I let myself take away a piece of my foundation to help me get ahead. My mom brought up how they were going to do family prayer, and she asked if I wanted to join. After I said "no" I realized that I had done something foolish, but still I persisted. Ended up making a mistake in the edit that only added to my aggravation (not to mention the work I'd need to put in to fix it) but I did not let it get out of hand beyond that. Ins...

To get to the next version of your life it is going to take some sacrifices. I learned this when I was becoming a runner on my track team in high school.
