Episode description

About our guest:

Since 2019, The Trash Traveler has been raising awareness about environmental issues through extraordinary approaches, with fun and creativity.
Having a master thesis from Cambridge University in Molecular Biology, he decided to leave his biomedical career behind to raise awareness about environmental protection and commit his work to ocean conservation.

In 2020, The Trash Traveler walked every single meter of the 852 km long Portuguese coastline to pick 1,6 tons of plastic.
In 2021, he picked up 1 million cigarette butts with the Portuguese community, during only 2 months.
Last year, 2022, he cycled 2370 km around Portugal, on a bicycle built out of only second hand parts to emphasise the need for a circular economy.
In 2023, he picked 750.000 cigarette butts in just 1 week, with 1.400 people participating. The project happened in Portugal, but it reached main news channels worldwide: from Argentina to China, from US to Germany.
What will happen next? Let's raise awareness together!
All adventures are accompanied by trashy awareness songs, fun videos for social media, and art pieces to engage people in a positive and creative way.
