When you bring about incremental changes that are in alignment with your future self. You're going to get there. It's when you're not in alignment. Is when you're not going to get there. Your results. are inconsistent right now because. You're not in alignment. And you here. A lot of buzz about the word alignment. And maybe you don't really know what that means. What's it mean to be in alignment? Let me put it to you. Metaphorically cause I'm big on. Picture something mental pictures.
So think of the tires on your truck. or your hooptie? If you let go of the wheel right now. See where your vehicle goes. If you let go of the wheel, man, it's going to veer off. Into the ditch, if you're out of alignment. So what do you have to do? You have to apply. Opposing resistance to the steering wheel. To prevent from going into the ditch. And it's deceiving at first, when you first get brand new tires. or an alignment. You're good. You're straight. And you hit a pothole.
You hit some resistance. You veer off to the side cause you're texting and you hit something hard. Well, you got away with it because your tires didn't blow out. But it got you a little bit out of alignment. And the little at a time, man. It starts to get worse and worse and worse. It's deceiving at first. You don't realize it because you just have to apply a little bit of resistance. But over time. If you don't correct the alignment. It's going to get worse and worse and worse.
Which is going to cause uneven tire wear. And you gonna have to buy a set of tires. Sooner. Then later plus. It could cause. Some major front end damage. Over time. But see, we don't think about that. We just think of, oh, I can get to where I need to be. Just. Applying a little bit of. Resistance to the steering wheel. And go the other way. That's what being out of alignment is for you. It doesn't seem like a big deal. You're drinking a little bit more than you have been.
You're making a few more exceptions. Eating a few more buffets smash, and a few more seafood platters swiping the credit card a little more often, starting to live off of that. Just a little bit. And because you're able to get through a month. A quarter a year. Doesn't seem like much. Just like going back to that old hoopty, you got. It's just a little bit out of alignment. Got through it. And that's what we do. We look at the little thin slices and we're like, okay, I got it. But the two words.
That will cause your demise. or your success. are eventually. And ultimately. Because eventually. It's going to get worse and worse in your life. If you're out of alignment. Eventually. Not, not immediately, eventually. And if you don't correct that. You're ultimately. Going to end up in the ditch. So things aren't happening for you right now. Just check your alignment. And pick one area. Just one. You may have a lot of different areas. That are out of alignment.
You'll get overwhelmed and you'll quit because you're going to chase too much and applied too much and correct too much. And you're going to end up quitting because you're going to get overwhelmed. So pick the one area that really just stings your soul. You're like, bro, I got to stop doing this. Whether it's drinking. As soon as you get home, whether it's eating bad at work, whatever, just pick one area, do no judgment. Been there, done that. But pick one area. To bring. Into alignment.
And that alignment is. A vision that you have for your future self. This is where I want to be. So you can't get there 10 years from now. By being out of alignment. This is why you have inconsistent results. So pick one thing today this week. Bring it back into alignment. The decisions and the actions that a take. are in alignment. With my higher self.
