All right. 3, 2, 1. Let's get it. Let's talk about a problem that you're facing today. And you probably don't even realize it. But you think less. And reminisce more. You think that you're thinking. When in reality. You're reminiscing. And reminiscing is when you just kind of drift off. Into those days that have long past. And these are those. Would've should've could've but you didn't kind of days. And these days. Stay fresh in your mind. Because you renew them over and over again.

And you feed these thoughts every single day. And you wonder why you're not getting better results. You're not getting better results because you're reminiscing. And then you continuously feed into the reminiscing. And this is why. Nothing's changing. You want new brighter days. Yet. You're drifting off. Into the old days. Those days of regrets. So, I want you to spend very little time reminiscing. And I want you to think more, but when you think. Think productively.

So, let me give you a few ways. To become. A better thinker to become a productive thinker. And these are things that I've used. Dude I'm with you. And there are days that I have drifted off. And it's like every day is a carbon copy. Of another bullshit ass day. And. When you stop and think about it, you're like, oh, I get it. I'm just drifting along. And I'm reminiscing. About things that I've messed up. The miscues, the embarrassment. The. Shit. I wish I could have done differently.

And you just. In that frustrating. You're like, when are things going to change? Nothing's going to ever change. And two who think differently because when you think differently, Then you're going to be able to act. More productively. So, let me give you a few ways to become aware. and more productive and proactive. About what you think. Number one. I think specifically about the past. Now, I know you think that you just got me. This may sound. Contradictory, but it's not.

See, when you think specifically about the past. I want you to find a specific pinch point. And extract. Only what is useful today. So it's kind of like mentally splicing in to old film. And so instead of letting yourself get off the rails, And just go off the reservation. And stir up all these negative old emotions. What I want you to do is think back to a specific point. And then splice in something new. Ask yourself. What could I have done differently in this situation?

And then this is what's beautiful about life. Then by thinking. You reconstruct your splice in. And take corrective action. Mentally today. See your subconscious doesn't know the difference between what your physically doing versus mentally doing. I use this a lot in sales. So when I blow a call, when I blow on a counter with a customer may have gotten too emotional. May I had some stuff going on at home. Took it out on that next situation.

So when these things happen, And these blow up moments. What I'll do is I'll I'll replay it. But instead of beating myself up. I'll replay it up to that point and right at the point where I mess up. I splice in. With what I should have done. Something that was productive, something that I may have missed. Now that the emotions have kind of died down and I can zoom out a little bit, take a macro view of it. And they go micro splice in and say, this is what you should have done.

The customer said this. And this is how you should have countered. This is what you should have said. This is what you should have done. It's like. I don't know, it's like a big Brawny paper towel, you know, when those commercials where the kids bills, the Kool-Aid and then they replay it all and they back up the film and then they replay the spill and the Brawny paper towel comes in and cleans it up. That's what you're doing. So you're thinking about a specific point in the past.

You're not reminiscing a drifting off, you're getting to that specific point. Mentally splicing in. It's that paper towel moment. What's done is done. But it doesn't mean. That you got to keep on doing it. It doesn't give you a license to keep on doing it. Say. I don't know. I'm just a victim here. No. It's done. Okay now. What is something useful I can extract from that moment. I can mentally splice in, clean it up. And apply it. To my day in and day out. Stop drifting off.

And feeding into that. It's not going to make your situation. Any better. Number two. Another way. To get stronger in your thinking is write there are a few ways that I do this first thing is free flow, your thoughts. When you free flow, this is your freestyle moment. So you're right about passages that you may have come about. When you were reading something or conversations. That you've had or ideas that have just popped in.

And so I would challenge you to capture those ideas throughout the day. On your voice memo app. So that way you can go back and write about these things in longer form later. You're going to find that a lot of times at this. Free flowing aligns with that internal hum that you have. Where your subconscious. Maybe kind of wrestling with some things. And while you're consciously taking the act of writing. Your subconscious and conscious merged together.

And dude, it's almost like the pen begins to write itself. What started off is just kind of a free spirited free flow act of writing. Those two intertwine. And the pin merges into something that's more productive. And poof. Things begin to align. That doesn't happen all in one time. This is something that you have to do a lot of. So don't slam the pen down. Her didn't work today, marsh. Well, you did it on Thursday. Now see me 360 Thursdays from now. Then tell me that. All right.

I'm telling you it's going to be different. Another way that. Is is a really good form of writing that have really helped me out in some of my darkest moments is write a letter to yourself. You know how it's always easier to give someone else advice. I mean, dude, you're like the Dr. Phil, but then when it comes to giving yourself your own advice, even about the same kind of situation, You like nut up, you don't know what to do. So imagine getting a letter from your best friend.

Talking about the mistakes they've made. How would you write back to them? Would you condemn them? Or would you write them back? Giving them some good advice? That's what you want to do, except your best friend is you. And this act of writing. Will help you think clear. Think more concise. It'd be more productive in the actions that you take. You won't mentally drive off the road. And hit a ditch in life. You'll stay on the road. The challenge is that life is just keep playing.

Are you going to have your blowups? Absolutely. How can I stay in this game? That's what you got to think about. You stay in the game by thinking. Number three. Another way to think. Is plod. A plan. P L O D I don't know if it's got two days or not. Somebody hit me up and let me know, plod a plan. So you didn't get here overnight. And you're not gonna change your situation overnight. But you can plod along in that plod is like don't don't don't don't don't that's plodding all right.

And let me tell you something. Change happens immediately. But the results. Take time to rebuild themselves. We all want instant change. Good. You can have instant change. How that change manifest that takes time. So you got to look at. Change to immediate. It's an investment. And so if you continuously invest in things that align with the person that you want to become. Change will happen. Your task today is just lay the brick. I just want to say all the time, lay the brick.

Your wall of successful com, but your job the day is not the whole fucking wall. Your job today is to lay that one brick. As perfectly as possible. Making good decisions. It's got a, it's got a line up with the rest of the wall. It's got to have enough mortar there where it all sticks together. And these good decisions. Aline. With the person that you want to become, this is how you build a collection of days. Better overall. Good. Well, you have the days that you mess up. Absolutely.

But you got to think of it as casting a majority of vote. No politician wins a hundred percent of the votes. They win. And they get an office. Through a majority vote. You win in life. By getting a majority of the votes. Of making good decisions. This collection. Becomes the new person. That you want to be. Did you do that? By plodding along. Don't don't don't don't number four. think "until" some of my best moments in life. We're when I didn't have. A rigid timeframe.

So when you set a specific timeframe, And sometimes, man, this is important. I say set the timeframe, but hold it very loosely. So. When you set a rigid timeframe. One or two things is going to happen either. It's going to seem too long, too daunting, and you're going to give up. or you going to feel like you've wasted just a bunch of time. You're not seeing any results. Doesn't seem like nothing's happening is happening for everybody else.

As a matter of fact, your day seemed to be getting worse. Time's running out. It's not going to happen. And you quit and you have no idea. You were like a millimeter from breaking through and you gave up. if you're tired of starting over, stop giving up. So sometimes man, would that plod mentality? And that until, as my timeframe, how much longer until. Every time, dude, my mind is tried to just oh marsh how much longer, man, this is a total waste of time early in the morning.

It's not going to work. How much longer is this going to be until, until I see the results I want to see. And what's crazy is once I see him. I'm going to level up. You got to raise the stakes anyway. So when till is a forever thing. You just keep evolving. You keep leveling up. And along the way. Nothing's for nothing. You're learning more about yourself, you're keeping commitments to yourself. You're amassing valuable skills. know how Experience connections. It'll all line up.

Just do your part. Number five. The act of thinking better. I think simple act easy. I end my podcast. Every time. With what? Keep it simple. And you do, man. You got to keep things simple. Life isn't easy. But you can keep it simple. Keep it simple. Act easy. So focus on a handful of things. That by days in you feel good about. And this will keep you out of this swing for the fences kind of mindset. We do this a lot in sales. Our month is just shit. We've been, um, vegetating.

All month long and the last week. Oh, it's serious time now. And we swing for the fences. You make your situation worse. We do this in life too. And so we swing for the fences trying to leap. Lurch. At. Instant changechange is instant, the result. will take time. You just do your part. So just because you can't see change doesn't mean changes in happening. What's important is that you feel fulfilled. At the end of the day. And even if you're tired, It's a clean burn of energy.

It's a productive form of energy. So you may be exhausted. Yet in a crazy way, man, you, you just, you. Fulfilled. Yes. I made good decisions today. I feel complete. The things that bring me the most energy every day. That's the things I do. Is read right. Workout. And record. When I do those four things. It's like my day, just so much more productive. So what are the things that bring you the most energy actually wrote something about this. This brings it up. I think I wrote a few days ago.

I need to record that. So I'll bring it to you probably next. Last. All right, let's get out of here last. read soak don't buy. I love this one. Read. Soak. Don't buy. So. Y'all know how I am. 15 minutes of random reading every day. Just pick a random, go to the bookstore, pull it off the shelf, read 15 minutes, put it back on the shelf. Get out of there. How many books you read is irrelevant, what you do with what you read, how you apply it to your life. That's the only thing that's relevant.

So I would challenge you 15, 20 minutes of random reading. You don't have to power through a whole book. If you want to read something in longer form. As time allows. So be it. But read, randomly pick a subject. Read about it. And then just soaking that, like imagine a big bubble bath. And you're soaking in what you just read today. Soak it in. But don't buy. I don't want you to buy a license. I don't want you to buy a 90 day course. Uh, seminar. I don't want you to do any of that. Not yet.

Just become familiar a lot of times, man. We, we want to change and we're tired of this situation. And we think, oh, okay, well, I'm going to. Put all this money on a credit card, make your situation worse, or I'm a borrow the money. Make your situation worse. And you think that the license, you think that the seminar, you think that the webinar, you think that the course you think that the schooling is going to change your situation? No thinking. Soaking. Becoming familiar with it.

It's what's going to begin to initiate the change. A lot of times, dude, you can become self-educated. You can. Are there times that you need to. Level up possibly. But right now, right off the bat, maybe not so much. Give yourself at least 90 days, just to become familiar with those things, set up, set up, set, something like that. Like, man, I really want to buy this thing. Until you can afford it and pay cash for it. Don't do it. that'll forge your commitment.

And you're going to find 30 days from. Oh, I didn't want it anyway. But if you pass that 30 days, that 60 day, bro, you're starting to click along at 90 day. Boom, you earned it. If you want to buy it, buy it. By that time, you probably won't. 'cause you're like, I pretty much got this thing humming. And besides. That person that you want to buy from. If you watch enough of their content and study it. You'll get bits and pieces of it. Over 90 days over the course of a year.

You probably get most of it. Soak it in. And then put it together for yourself. All right. The challenge to this is today. I want you to think. How little you give to thinking. How much are you reminiscing and drifting off? Versus how much are you actually thinking that's what's important. And when you have that awareness. Then you're going to think better. You're going to be alert. This is how the years get away from you. The day got away from you, your situation just keeps getting worse.

Because you're drifting. You're reminiscing. And what's, what's lovely about life. Is. It's not as complicated as we think. I mean, if you just go back over the list of what I just said, I mean all of this man, none of this requires. Any investment. Outside of just you just budgeting a little time. Thinking specifically about the past writing. Free-flowing or writing a letter to yourself. Plod a plan plod along along. Think until, until as my timeframe. Think simple. Just a few things.

Act easy. Reed soak and don't buy. That's it. So, let me ask you this. As I just went over this list. Which areas. Would help you think better? Let me know, man. DME I'm on all the socials. Love to hear from you. Or you can send me an email, the sales life, the [email protected]. Hadn't said that email address awhile in a while are even better. If you want to go to a marshbuice.com that's my website. There, you will find.

800 episodes that you can just peruse through, But in the bottom right-hand corner is a microphone. And that microphone. Is a link from you to me. So leave me a message. Let me know what. What's your thoughts are, let me know what questions that you have. How can I help? I'm no hair, but I'm all ears. Um, a little bit of stubble today, cause I need the shave. So I need to get a haircut. As soon as I jump off this. All right with that. Let's get out of here. Keep it simple. Keep it moving.

Never settle. State up. Thanks for sharing today's episode with one person who needs it. This is how we grow the show, man. I'm not big on the socials and stuff like that. And so it takes a lot of effort to clip these things out and stuff. I'd rather just bring you a full episode and then you share it with someone and help grow the show itself. Um, I just can't be on a thousand platforms all at once. I don't think it's a productive use of time.

Uh, what I would rather do is spend that time thinking. About the next episode, creating those things, living what I'm learning, and then sharing that with you. That's what I would prefer to do. So if you could help me with that. By sharing. The episode with someone else, this will help grow the show. And then also leaving a rating and review. This is super important, man. It doesn't take, but a few. Uh, you know, a minute or so. I just write what a specific episode means to you.

You don't have to hoe Marsha. Like that? No, I mean, Thanks if you do, but it's not really that it's more so. There are millions of podcasts to choose from. Everybody's starting a podcast and there are millions to choose from. We've been doing this since 2017. And so when people are shopping, For something else to listen to, they're going to go to. The reviews, they're going to go to the ratings and because they just like they do at a restaurant. I mean, shit, we all do that.

Or just like when we're buying something on Amazon, we go to the stars. The stars is what, it's the quality. It determines the quality. Of what you're buying and you're buying the investment of listening, man, you car out 15, 20 minutes. Every episode, man, it means the world to me. Please share that with someone else. What does a specific episode mean to you? Or how has it helped you?

What problem have you been facing adversity and certainty or complacency and how have a collection of these episodes kind of got you back on track? Or how does it keep you on task on track? So that's my idea of starters there. If you would just take a few minutes to do that, man, that would mean a lot to me. It really Stokes a fire in me because there are days, man, when I'm just, my Dobber is down and I'm getting on here. It's light man.

But then it's funny how the universe acts because I'll be down and then that message will come through. Um, through a review and his light, and I appreciate that. I'm on the right track. There's enough. Bullshit out there. And I just, I want to bring. A clean burn to you, man. I want to challenge you want to push you while I'm pushing myself too. All right. So with that, remember the greatest sale that you will ever make is the sale you own, you much love to you. Peace.
