All right. 3, 2, 1. Let's get it. I read a powerful quote today, man. I just want to share with you. I love it. Benjamin Hardy said it's better for you to lose to your future self. Then your current self. Do what a powerful mantra that is. It's a great thought. To harness. Especially when you're facing. One of the three problems in your life today. The three problems we all face, which is the name of this podcast is adversity. Uncertainty. And complacency. You're facing one more.
All of them today. So here's how I see it. If I'm going to lose today. Let it be to the man that I'm becoming, not the man that I am. Think about this. See if I lose to my current self. I regress for instance, if I'm at point C today, And I do a little bit less, like skip a workout. Stay out late with fellows and drink. Or slack off at work. I dropped from a C to a B and it seems very subtle. Doesn't seem like it adds up to much. It's even fractional. It's so subtle. You don't even notice it.
But see those fractions. Of skip workouts, staying out late. Slacking off at work. They're fractional in the moment. But when you put them all together, It becomes a whole loss. These are those all of the sudden moments, we've all had them. These are dreaded and then all of the sudden days are the days when you finally take notice. That your waistline grew. Your relationships crumbled. your skills have stagnated. Your bank account is dry. And your credit card debt is large.
Didn't happen overnight. It happened over time. Fractional. And they happened. Because we got into the habit. Of losing to our current self. But if you lose to your future self. If you're constantly improving. Stretching every day. Uh, focusing on the future. Means that you're in alignment. You know where you're going. You know, who you want to become. And it leaves no room to your current self. So, whether you're facing adversity. Or uncertainty today. Confront it. Don't let these things lie.
Dormant. Because. It seems like nothing's happening. It seems like you got away with it. But they come back. And when they come back, they come back compounded and even stronger. So take it upon yourself. To be curious, ask questions. Don't make statements to be creative in the moment when you're confronting these situations. Don't wait for anyone to come help you. No one's coming to help you. Everybody's trying to save their own ass. Save your own ass. It's your problem. You deal with it.
And if you're feeling complacent, this is why it's so crucial to work a process every single day. I bang the drum on it. It's so simple to just put a few things. That bring maximum impact. It leaves no room for negotiation. So even on the days that you ain't feeling it, you got the don't wants. I get it. But you could still check the boxes. Do a few things that take care of your relationships, just touch. Your health, your wellbeing, your finances, your career. Just a few. Daily actions.
Can bring maximum impact. In doing so it builds character. And keeps the momentum flowing. And even if you take an L today, Let it be to your future self. Not your current self.
