I remember this stage of my business so well, and it was one of the most difficult stages of my business to get past, which is why I'm so. So passionate about meeting wedding pros right here. This is the podcast to help you grow and scale your profitable wedding business, and I am so excited to dig into today's topic all about the three reasons that your wedding business isn't growing. So let's get right into it. Number one is that you aren't getting enough sales. Now, I know this one seems obvious, right? You're kind of like, Duh, Brandee, right? my wedding business isn't gonna grow if I'm not getting enough sales.
But this isn't as obvious as you may think it is because most wedding pros don't actually know how to dissect why they're not getting enough sales. Sales, right? So I'm not just going to tell you in this episode, the three reasons that your wedding business isn't growing. I want to also tell you how to figure out how to grow it, right? So number one, you're not getting enough sales. So let's really look at that.
Okay. So in your sales funnel, you need to be making sure that you're tracking all of your data. That means how many leads are coming into your business. All of them. Every single lead that comes into your business, I want you to be tracking it. And then I also want you to track how many of those are going to consult, and then how many of those are actually booking. Why is that important? Because that's going to tell us why you're not getting enough sales, right?
So lots and lots of business owners will come to me and say, I'm not making enough sales. I'm not getting enough sales. I don't have enough revenue this year. My revenue's down, but they don't know why. And that's because they're not tracking this data. So this data is going to tell us why you're not getting enough sales. Is it because you're actually not getting enough leads? If so, then we want to focus on your marketing, right?
We want to go, we want to, Figure out where you're going to be able to find your ideal client, how you can do that. We want to give you exact strategies and how to make sure that you're getting in front of the right people and enough of the right people, right? So that's what we're looking at there.
If we're not getting them to consult, then there's something broken in our sales funnel and the sales funnel is so, so important because that's going to take a lead from that inquiry to getting them to book a consult with you. Most pros can close a consult once you can get them there. But so often people fall into this void, into this vortex between the client inquiring and then getting to the consult. And we want to avoid that.
We want to have a really strong sales funnel so that you can get as many of those leads over to consultation as possible. So number one, we've talked about is that you're not getting enough sales, but we really want to understand and dissect Why we're not getting enough sales because you can't fix a problem, unless you know why it's happening, right? So we don't want to just say I'm not getting enough sales We want to figure out exactly why and then we're going to create a strategy to fix that hole in your sales funnel.
Okay The number two reason of why your wedding business isn't growing is because your packages are Actually not profitable. And this is one that I find so many wedding pros are shocked by. When our wedding pros come into our program, one of the things that we talk a lot about is profitability, because to be honest, I don't care what your revenue is, if you're not actually making any money.
And this happens to way too many CEOs in our industry, where you actually might be doing six figures or multiple six figures of revenue. In your business, but you're not paying yourself yet or you're, you don't have enough profit to build a team to build out a team. And so you're on kind of this hamster wheel of like, I'm doing everything myself and there's not enough money left over to pay anyone, and that's because you're not profitable.
in your packages And this is so, so wildly important, you guys, to understand whether you're actually making enough money. Because this also goes back to the fact that like, you can set a goal for the year and say, okay, this is going to be the year I hit my first hundred thousand in my business, for instance, but you don't even know if you have enough hours in the year to Accomplish that because you're under charging for your packages, right?
So This is where the burnout and the overwhelm is coming into our industry because we're under charging and we're over delivering And we're not actually making any money, but you don't know that because you've never broken your packages down. And then from there, you can start to really work out, Okay, do I need to be charging more? What I love about this exercise so much is that once you've broken your packages down and you really understand how much you're making, it gives you the confidence to raise your prices.
So often we're afraid to raise our prices because you're honestly basing it in nothing. You're just kind of like throwing a dart at the wall or you're looking at what other people are charging and you're like, yeah, I guess I can charge that too, but I'm not really sure.
Once you understand what goes into your packages and exactly how much you need to make to be profitable, you go into a sales consultation so much more confident because you know, you know, what you're gonna deliver inside of that package. right? So listen to me on this one. Here's what I experienced so often when I'm working with wedding pros, especially when someone drops into my DMs or I'm interacting with somebody over on threads, is that they're like, I am so overwhelmed with the amount of client work that I have that I've started to turn away leads. Or I'm gonna go ahead and close my books for the year because I've gotten all the business that I can handle.
And listen, if that's what you want from your business, if you're like, yeah, I'm gonna do 20 weddings every single year and that's all I'm doing, great, kudos to you. That is awesome and I'm happy for you that you feel really good about that. But understand that that's why your business isn't growing because you can't grow your business if you have a limited finite capacity, right?
When you start to build a team is when you're able to really start to feel that scale and that additional profit coming into your business. I was working with one of my students and when she came into the program, she had told me she'd turned away over 50 leads the year before. And I died. Like, I was like, I just need a moment of silence for the death that came to your business last year.
And the reason that she was turning away those leads is because she was like, I think I always just want to stay a solopreneur, but I'm not really sure. And I don't know how to hire. I don't know the first steps. Like it feels so overwhelming because I'm so overworked with client work right now that I don't even know where to start. And CEO, that's exactly what I teach my students. That's why I work with my students to really figure out, one, are you ready to build a team?
Because we don't just add team members for no reason. We want to make sure that you've got the Lead flow to need a team member, right? But then once we see that you're consistently turning away leads every single month, y'all, it is time to build a team. This is so imperative to the growth of your business. Just being afraid of doing it is not a good reason to not do it. Right? That's when you need to seek out the help. That's when you need to join a program.
That's when you need to get a coach that can help you to really step into, okay, how do I build out this team? And I love it because when I get to work with wedding pros and help them to really figure out how to build that out, the eyes, their eyes just get so open to like, This is what my business can look like. Like, this is amazing.
Right. And I love getting to see that freedom that comes with having a team so that you don't feel like everything is constantly on you and you're really moving into that coach role so that you can mentor your team versus constantly being on a hamster wheel of running your business, running your business all by yourself. Having a team is just.
Really that ability to then become a brand instead of just one person and your capacity grows so much And you can start to really lean into that marketing and scalability of your business This is how we're taking wedding pros from fifty sixty thousand dollars a year to two and three hundred thousand dollars a year It's because we're really working with our pros on exactly how that they're building out this team Then how they're going to lean into that marketing the sales and then really
scaling their business and I Love it, I absolutely love it. So, you guys, that's it. That's the three tips that I have for you. There's just really three simple reasons as to why your wedding business isn't growing and no matter what stage of business that you're in, one of these fits you.
If you're under $100, 000 in revenue, likely the reason that you're not growing, that your wedding business isn't growing is either because you're not getting enough sales or because your packages aren't profitable. That's typically what I see. When you're under $100, 000 in revenue. If you're over $100, 000 in revenue, it's typically that your packages aren't profitable.
So you feel like you can't scale your team because you don't have enough profit coming into your business or because you are afraid to build the team. And so that's really what we want to lean into. So no matter what stage of business that you're in, one of these three reasons is is the reason that your wedding business isn't growing. And you guys, I don't want to see that for you. I want to see you, CEO. I want to see you scale your business beyond your wildest imagination.
There's no greater joy that I have as a business coach for wedding bros than to see a wedding pro come into my program so stressed out, so overwhelmed, and just not sure about the next steps of their business.
