Oh my goodness . So everybody knows already . We are at the 2023 World Food Championships . You know what it turns out ? That my boy , mark Conway , the MC and host of this bad ass event , happens to be right here with me . We're going to just kind of check in . It's been crazy today . It's been crazy .

By the way , this is Carl Fidini , your host , walktalk Podcast , mark , my brother , yo man , I mean , this is crazy in here already .

Speaker 2

This is nothing . I know Tomorrow's going to be nuts . This is like the calm before the crazy . So if you think this is wild and active and movement , you're going to put about 200 teams in this space tomorrow , competing one right after the other , category after category , and it's just going to go insane . We're here for it .

You've got seriously this view right here . You have the best view in the entire freaking building and it's a red carpet right behind you .

Speaker 1

We kind of got like the best booth in the building . I'm just saying . I mean , you know a guy , you know , I know a guy . He's right next to me , you know , by the way , mark , you know , on behalf of the whole team , the WalkTalk family , thank you for having us out here , man . I couldn't have you guys miss it .

Speaker 2

And wait a minute even bigger . We have to chime in because of what happened , because we're going to talk about this in the BTS . Yeah , Big tummy status for trying to help us out getting a truck yesterday . Thank you so much to that .

That was so crazy . Can you imagine Like there are easier ways to get near me ?

Speaker 2

It's him Look like dude . I like venison too , but like there's easier ways to get it and you didn't even bring the car . Like I said , bring it bring it . He thought he was joking and I was like he walked in at three o'clock in the morning and opened up the door and go surprise him at first and he's like , oh my God , I didn't mean .

I'm like where's the deer ? He's like you seriously wanted it and I'm like , hello , I butcher . No , that's like roadkill stew , but it was fresh .

Speaker 1

Brunswick , it was real fresh . Oh my goodness , it was a real fresh , happy deer . What should everybody be looking for ?

Speaker 2

What everybody's going to look at before here is that you're going to have home cooks , executive chefs , food truck cooks , wannabe cooks all going shoulder to shoulder , head to head , making these dishes . It's crazy , Step it .

Speaker 1

I can't wait for my part in this , as I am going to be a . I am a master judge here .

Speaker 2

You're a master judge . You're welcome . Yes , you are welcome . So what .

Speaker 1

Jeff means by that is ?

We were at the airport yesterday .

Speaker 1

He's like , like I'm Rocky Balboa , you know , and he's Mick .

Speaker 2

Oh , you're Mick , he's been training me for this . You have the bucket and the rag and you're like come on . He's like come on , come on , come on , come on , take another bite . Seven more pounds .

Speaker 1

Anyway , Mark , I hope you're going to stop over here periodically throughout the event Absolutely , and you know we'll catch up and kind of see what's going on .

Speaker 2

And I'm going to send a few of my rather well-known friends down .

Speaker 1

Send them in . We're going to make it look good , baby . We're going to make this real . Oh yeah , for real .

Speaker 2

There's going to be food , people , debauchery , I mean it's everything .

Speaker 1

Where's the cocktails ? That's what we're missing here .

Speaker 2

Oh , there's a whole mixology competition taking place for the first time .

Speaker 1

For the first time . Did you like the leading ? Oh yeah .

Speaker 2

I'd like to be a master judge for that . Nobody steps in front of me and put a line on the cocktail Nobody puts baby in the corner .
