Episode description

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to the good days. Not some day, not one day, the good day, which is right now and I say right now because now is all that we have. I don't care how far you look forward in the future or how far you want to look back. It's no relevance until we have right now. But I know we play these games in our mind. We run in circles. We cause ourselves anxiety. But it's time for us to go ahead and free ourselves. It made me think of this track by SZA, it's entitled "Good Days." And in it she says, "Good day in my mind. Safe to take a step out. Get some air now. Let your edge out." When are you going to say to get out of here? When are you going to get tired of telling that same story that doesn't serve you? And what do I say? "If it doesn't serve you, it doesn't deserve you." And sometimes you have to tell that to yourself. And get this. You're not the only one that's going through something.

SZA even talks in the song. She says, and I quote, "Got me a war and my mind. Got to let go away. Can't keep holding. Got to let go of weight. Can't keep what's holding me." When are you going to free yourself? When are you going to give yourself permission to live? In the moment, in the now, and be grateful for who you are and who you've become and who you are becoming? Hmm? I feel like half the time we're looking so far ahead or trying to look so far back that we forgot what it is to be in the now.

You will never be this young again. You will never be this fine again. You will never have this moment right now again. So what are you wasting it on? Hmm? She goes on to say, "Half of us chasing fountains of youth and it's in the present right now." Trying to figure out what's the next thing to jump on rather than just being where you are right now and growing from this moment. Stop thinking that it has to be something different, what it is right now and understand the beauty of what it is and where you are right now. That's the "good day." The good day is when you can free yourself. Allow your mind to be free. Allow your spirit to be free. Allow your heart to be free. More importantly, allowing you to be free. Make today a good day.

That's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset."
